JULIEN DUBUQUE BRIDGE INSPECTION
JULIEN DUBUQUE BRIDGE INSPECTION
The Julien Dubuque bridge is continuous steel-arched bridge that carries US 20 over the Mississippi River connecting Dubuque, Iowa and East Dubuque, Illinois. It was constructed in the early 1940’s in part, to help facilitate military transportation. The bridge has an 845 foot main arch span with solid I-shaped steel deck hangers.
This project entailed performing routine biennial fracture critical inspection of the truss members and deck hangers. Rope access was used to gain hands-on access to inspect the bridge.
