COMBS-HEHL BRIDGE INSPECTION
COMBS-HEHL BRIDGE INSPECTION
The Combs-Hehl Bridges are twin structures located five miles upstream from downtown Cincinnati and carries the northern I-275 beltway Ohio River Crossing. The bridges got their name by joining the last names of two gentlemen – the former Kentucky Governor Bert Combs and a Campbell County judge, Lambert Hehl.
The design is a bit uncommon as it is a cantilever through truss, but only has one main tower. Rope access was used to inspect the bridges and gain hands-on access to the fracture critical members.
