BOULEVARD BRIDGE INSPECTION
BOULEVARD BRIDGE INSPECTION
The Boulevard Bridge is a deck truss bridge in Richmond, Virginia that carries SR-161 over the James River – a very scenic river, popular for lots of recreational activities. The bridge is just over 2,000 feet long and was built in the mid 1920’s. It carries a single lane of traffic in each direction and a sidewalk. The facility is tolled and the current cost to cross the bridge is 35 cents. A rope access method called webbing climbing was used to inspect the truss members and floor system.
